Not happy with the result? Improve it with your own AI key optional
The converter above works with no key and no account. If a result is not good enough, you can add a free or paid AI key of your own and press Improve with AI. The AI re-writes your whole text in correct Urdu, line by line, even for thousands of lines.
Privacy: your key is kept only in this browser. When you press Improve with AI, your text goes from your browser straight to the provider you chose, and to nobody else. PHL Tools never sees your key or your text.
Free keys have small limits (a few requests per minute), so very long texts take a few minutes. Paid keys are faster; a long text can cost a small amount on your own account. Cloudflare, Cohere and Hugging Face are not offered because they do not allow requests from a web page.
Speak instead of typing: Urdu voice typing Chrome / Edge
Press the microphone and speak. Your browser writes what you say in Urdu script, which you can copy, or send to the converter above to get Roman Urdu.
Please note: voice typing is done by your browser’s own speech service (Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge). It needs the internet and your voice is sent to that service, so it is not private like the rest of this tool. It does not work in Firefox. Accuracy depends on your microphone, your accent and background noise.
Ctrl + Enter (Cmd + Enter on Mac) copies the result. Click an underlined word, or press Enter on it, to change its spelling. Nothing you type is sent anywhere unless you choose the optional AI or voice features below.
