Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains what PHL Tools does and does not do with information. PHL Tools is operated by PHL EDU WITH AI.
Text you enter into a tool
The tools run in your browser using JavaScript that is delivered with the page. The text you type, paste or load into a tool is processed on your device. The page does not send that text to our servers or to any third party, and it does not save the text. When you close or refresh the page, the text is gone. Spelling choices you make in the Roman Urdu converter are kept in the page's memory only until you leave it.
Browser-based processing has limits. The text is visible to you and to your browser, and to any browser extensions you have installed. On a shared computer, clear the text before you leave. Copying to the clipboard places the text in your device's clipboard, which other apps may be able to read.
Optional features on the Roman Urdu page
Two features on the Roman Urdu to Urdu page are optional, off by default, and the only places where text or audio can leave your device. You start each one yourself.
- Improve with AI (your own key). If you add an API key and press Improve with AI, your text is sent from your browser directly to the AI provider you chose (Google, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral, OpenAI or Anthropic). It does not pass through PHL Tools and we never see your key or your text. The provider handles it under its own terms and privacy policy, and free plans of some providers may use submitted text to improve their models, so do not send anything private. Your key is kept in this browser only: in session storage (forgotten when you close the tab) or, if you tick Remember my key, in local storage under the name
phl.ai.v1. You can delete it with Remove saved key or by clearing this site's data. - Voice typing. This uses the speech recognition built into your browser (Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge). Your voice is sent by the browser to that service, not to PHL Tools. The result appears on the page. Allow or block the microphone in your browser at any time.
What is stored on your device
- Your AI key, only if you add one. See the optional features above.
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name
phl-theme. It contains only the word light or dark. - Offline copy of the site. A service worker may save copies of the site's own pages, styles, scripts and fonts so that the site can open offline. It does not save the text you type.
You can remove all of these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
PHL Tools does not set cookies, does not use analytics and does not show advertising. It does not load third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. If that changes, for example if advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated first and tool pages will remain free of third-party scripts where practical.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web hosting service that delivers this site may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type, for security and operation of the service. We do not use these logs to identify you, and they do not contain the text you enter into tools.
Links to other sites
Links to other websites, including PHL EDU WITH AI, are governed by their own privacy policies. This includes the tools listed on the PHL EDU Tools page: they open on phledu.com, are not part of PHL Tools, and handle information as described on that site. Some of them ask you to enter your own AI key or sign in with Google, which this policy does not cover.
Children
PHL Tools does not ask for personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
